“Unemployment has soared to a 12-year high of more than 2.2 million after a record number of people lost their jobs in recent months.”

I’ve been looking for a parttime job, to save for holiday, but it’s pointless looking anymore.  Becouse there are grown women and men who had CV’s full of pervious work experience. Whom worked in high places but now are applying for part time jobs such as me. These are people with children and people that depend on them to take care of them. And for that in my mind they need the job more then someone like me, a student, someone who just wants some extra money in the pocket.

I will blogging once or more a week, concerning news etc well anything really.

For my video final project I formed a group with Kaltrina Abemi. I think we worked very well as a group. We managed and used our time wisely. As we formed plans well and kept to them. The content of our video was based on the independence of Kosovo. We went and filmed the gathering at Trafalgar Square, which was organized to celebrate the independence of Kosovo. We interviewed people and took many pictures. Which where later going be used to edit the final video. During the filming on the day I filmed all the interviews and Kaltrina asked the questions to the interviewees. I also took all still images. Being more critical of my group member I think it’s possible to be critical of someone on a professional level, without getting personal. And I think Kaltrina was good partner to work with, she had a certain thrive to do better and get the best, that is what I liked about her group work skills. And I think she was great at asking the questions, as she read more on the subject and knew how to ask questions for different people.

I think our idea was good, as it was a current issue and we had something to work towards. I think we could have planned the filming and the amount of interviews to do better. I think we could’ve worked on the sound. Because once we looked through the footage, we found that the sound was not so great. As you could here background noise and sometimes we could not here what the interviewees where saying. Furthermore, during the editing process, I think we worked very well. Simply because we had already discussed what we planned and had a clear idea of how our video was going to run. These made it easier for us select certain clips to form our footage and images.
Overall I enjoyed working with Kaltrina, she’s a great person to work with. I think we make a really good team. I’m looking forward to working with her in the future again.

2.    The audio work you’ve done for the module

For my audio project I created a podcast based on the content of student fees. All my images where original and my interviews where fair in the people I choose. I think as an online form, my podcast would work very well with the online form. Simply because the majority of young people to be attached to the Internet and seem to get most their news content from there. So since my podcast is targeted at students, it would be the perfect place for the podcast to be put on the Internet as they will be most likely to see it.
3.    The online part of the module

As part of my multimedia module we used different online sites. For example RSS feeds, Google News, Google Reader, Twitter, Flickr, Delicious, blogging in general, YouTube and Vimeo. What they all had in common is that they all stole a role of a part of the media. Such as YouTube and its content of uploading videos, in some forms replaces broadcasting, in many other forms it does not. Moreover, sites such as Google news, replaces the traditional ways of getting the news, through newspapers. And Google reader, some way replaces the traditional way of physicelicly good to the library and taking out a book.
Furthermore, although there are many arguments with this arguments blogging somehow replaces the traditional journalist. Still I believe blogging is just a part of the multimedia culture today and it will no draw a line to the traditional journalist.

4.    Multimedia, the net and journalism

Metaphorically speaking, the Internet and its multimedia buddy are, bullying the traditional way of journalism and broadcast. Claim they are better, stronger, but not wiser. A lot of people seem to think that journalism is going down, tumbling like rocks on a high mountain, because of the world of the Internet and the multimedia is taking over. I think NOT. I believe that multimedia and the Internet are infact working together with journalism.

My main goal with the task was to make sure i written about both male and female fashion and different types of fashion, rock, glamorous, punk, not just what interested me. I believe i achieved that, although i feel i could have done more.  Overall i enjoyed writing on the blog every week, not only because its a passion of mine but also because i was able to actually go out there and take pictures of fashionable people on the street and have a reason to give them as why i was taking a picture of them. Which leads me to the originality of my photos and videos. I made sure all my images and videos where original. I think i accomplished that well as all my images are original apart from one or two, but they are not main images and if there are images that are not original it is either because i’m focusing on a particular website and their unique products. I tried to make my post a lot more multimedia based and not to text heavy, as too much text when blogging is not good. It is not appealing to the readers eye. So i made a video asking a few girls about their opinions of outfits, and made sure i had images to back up what i was talking about. I found it difficult at first uploading a video i made myself onto the blog, however i quickly found a solution and uploaded it on YouTube first, then linked it on to the blog. I found it easy uploading images, though i feel i realized some of my pictures where turning out to be to large so i made them smaller, the posts look much better with smaller images, so i’ve learn’t. I tried to make it more engaging for my readers by creating question polls.

The overall blog (in terms of design) is great, i think our name is good, it relates to the content of the blog. The heading design, designed by Sam is very creative and eye catching. The overall posts done by everyone within my group are all well done, although i think some of them shouldn’t make their posts to long, they should make it less text heavy, having said that i think the way they write is brilliant. It reaches our target audience and each post posted by my group members for fills its categories aim. Some of our posts where responsive to recent events, such as my ‘London fashion week’ post, it was posted according to the London fashion week event. However i think my group could have planned production better, in terms of who posts when, and how many posts we can do a day. This is because one person would upload two posts at once which didn’t make the blog look appealing and it didn’t give other categories the chance to be looked at once the reader clicks on the blog.

The exercise with Ben Gilbert was a good day, it was good practice concerning tight deadlines. My group split roles which we all got to do, one person written the questions and everyone was giving ideas as to what questions to ask. One person took pictures and one person written the final pieace on to the blog. Also my group audio recorded Ben when we interviewed him. As part of my role in this exercise, i written the interview peaice for my team.  I think the outcome of the written peaice was at a good standard, Ben commented that, ‘the transcript looks accurate and to the point. Well done…’ i’m happy with the result. We received a positive response from Ben Gilbert on our overall blog. Overall i think think we worked great as a group, id rather refer to it as a team, because i think we played the blogging game well. We all contributed equally and we all got on with each other and no one complained about others work.

My writing online i think is pretty good, i try to sound less academic, though i think if i tried to sound academic it would not be so great for my category as writing about fashion, is about getting more personal with it and giving your own opinion on clothes and outfits as well as analiseing things.

Overall i enjoyed doing this work and this Multimedia module, i gained a lot of knowledge and skills when it comes to the internet side of the media. I enjoyed writing every week and i think i will continue to do so with my own personal blog.
